My first question is whether you have woodworking skills and tools. You need at least the basic tools. Tape measure, square, and drill bits, screwdrivers, saws, glue and screws on the hardware. In the meantime, I have my woodworking sites for you. This is a fairly simple project and has shown a good beginer project that could really build up the image.

Forgive me, but I have no connection. Born and raised on a farm and a mud room / living room was needed.

In those days were rough structures, because aesthetics are not such a big problem. Often, only the tips of pine, or nailed together, tables for boots and shoes on the form until the next use, often over a period of 30 minutes time between tasks / / lunch and the next meeting of housework.

Of course there are many possibilities.

I Intitially "standardize" the mud room, or at least some of the carpet outside GDP / washable, perhaps the same on the inside of the left waste. You can even milk crates stacked up and join them. Subjects

Cubby Maybe not as important as the platform shoes to make / work shoes to dry the mud, perhaps, secure with a strip of 1 x 1 wood at the heel.

You can measure a piece of 1x the length, as a hub Pine Backer, attached to the wall above, in tacos, with several hooks for coats / SLICers / long pin, including boots cling to aid drying.

My mind is the old school, but our place in that specific purpose, never the intention to adhere strictly to the eye appeal, but it is fully functional and effective.

Target sells cabinets modules, which are for what you want to work. Everything you need to do is to collect and stack. They come in many shapes and colors. They have also set square modules that you can film in boxes of documents, like a drawer if you want.
